Associated Builders and Contractors Southern California will hold its Chapter’s 23rd annual Craft Championships. The event features live, action-packed, hands-on electrical and plumbing competitions, sheet metal and low voltage electrical demonstrations, mini craft competition for attendees, free kids crafts provided by Home Depot, more than 30 vendors including Milwaukee Tool, Diablo Tools, Walter’s Wholesale and One Source Distributors (all with special prices for the day), free refreshments including lunch from In-N-Out Burger, a chili cook-off, raffles, face painting and more.
Twenty-seven of the top plumbing and commercial and industrial electrical apprentices in Southern California will vie to qualify for ABC’s National Craft Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where they will compete against the best apprentices and trainees from across the country in March.
The event will take place at: 1400 N. Kellogg Dr., Suite A, Anaheim, CA, 92807 on Saturday, January 21 from 6:45 am to 3 pm.
The construction industry faces a shortage of 1.1 million skilled workers over the next decade. The Craft Championships are a critical part of ABC’s effort to raise the profile of careers in construction and highlight the $1.1 billion ABC member companies spend annually on workforce development.
