ACG’s Popular Live Q&A Session with Certified Commissioning Authority

(CxA) Workshop Instructors Returns in Two Formats: On-Demand and In-Person

WASHINGTON, D.C — The AABC Commissioning Group is offering a livestream version of its well respected Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) Workshop, followed by a live 1-hour Q&A session with its instructors to dive further into the concepts introduced during the stream.


On-Demand CxA Workshop & Live Q&A Session: December 9, 2021; CxA Workshop livestream: 11:00 AM Eastern, $400; Live Q&A: 2:00 PM Eastern, $95; Instructor: Al LaPera, CxA, EMP, LEED AP.


The prerecorded, 3-hour commissioning workshop will cover all aspects of commissioning ranging from project management to functional testing, and both new and existing building commissioning. It is recommended to watch the video prior to the live Q&A session. Up to 4 AIA Learning Units (LUs) can be earned by attendees for continuing education purposes.


Who Should Attend? Commissioning Providers, MEP Engineers, Energy Managers, Building Owners, Facility Managers, O&M Managers, Architects, and Other Building Professionals.


What is Covered? Introduction to the Commissioning Process; New Building Commissioning (Pre-Design Phase, Design Phase, Construction Phase, Acceptance Phase, and Post-Acceptance Phase); and Existing Building Commissioning.

Next year (2022) will see the return of the CxA Workshop in-person sessions. Qualified participants will have the option to take the CxA exam on-site after the in-person workshop concludes. The in-person workshops will take place in conjunction with AHR Expo 2022 and CxEnergy 2022; AHR Expo, Las Vegas, NV; CxA Workshop in-person session: February 1-2, 2022; CxEnergy 2022, Orlando, FL;CxA Workshop in-person session: April 19-22, 2022.

The CxA certification is the premier credential for independent commissioning providers. The CxA program is ANSI accredited and recognized by the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings® Workforce Guidelines program, ensuring that the CxA is considered an approved commissioning credential for all federally funded projects.
