Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward

by Leif Elgethun, CEO, Retrolux

So here we all are starting to accept what unfortunately is the new normal. Even though this moment of time will be read in history books by future generations, the reality is we’re just finishing Chapter 1 of the Covid Crash. We each chart our own destiny and how we deal with this next chapter will define our nation, our communities, our families, and each of us as human beings.

I choose to Keep Moving Forward. We can not live in fear of the unknown, heads clouded with uncertainty, and souls weighed down by doubt.  I urge you to look inwards to find your personal North Star, tune out the noise, and wake up every day with a purpose to make your world a better place.

As the country begins to open up, I only hope that we have learned from the challenges we all faced this last month, and emerge as a stronger nation along with more kindness to our fellow human beings.

Now it’s time for Some Good News! First, we’re starting to see a turnaround based upon the data in the Retrolux platform with usage on our platform bottoming out two weeks ago. Second, we’ve talked to lots of our customers and things are starting to loosen up across the board, with certain sectors and regions seeing faster upticks. Third, we’ve helped launch a nonprofit marketplace connecting PPE providers to healthcare providers in Idaho.
Last, but certainly not least, we’ve launched Safe Access (http://www.safeaccess.app), an app built to help contractors open up their doors and go to job sites safely while building trust between locations and visitors.

So how do we all Move Forward? One step at a time and one day at a time. It will not be without some obstacles but I can’t help be reminded by this quote by Babe Ruth – “Do what is right not what is easy.” We are a resilient country and a proud nation. Let’s have our future generations look back on these moments and say, “This is how they overcame one of the worst times in modern history and triumphed. They chose to Keep Moving Forward Together.

“Be strong, be united, and be one.
