Lunera Smart Lighting Platform Receives EdisonReport’s LightFair 2018 Top 10 MUST SEE Award

Lunera, a smart lighting innovator, announced that EdisonReport has selected the Lunera Smart Lighting Platform as a LightFair 2018 Top 10 MUST SEE Award winner.

Each spring, the EdisonReport evaluates products and services from all Tier 1, most Tier II, and some Tier III companies and chooses the LightFair Top 10 MUST SEE list. This year, EdisonReport has chosen the Lunera Smart Lighting Platform as a Top 10 MUST SEE solution. EdisonReport 2018 judges, who included Dan Blitzer of The Practical Lighting Workshop; Anne Cheney of MLF Design; and Jim Yorgey of Lutron, cited distinguishing features of the Lunera solution including: The integration of Networked Lighting Controls and energy measurement & verification into the solution’s T8 LED lamp endcap; The elimination of external/discrete controllers, gateways, ambient light sensors and beacons; DLC NLC Qualification of the platform; The combination of Wi-Fi for data backhaul and Bluetooth for IoT device and lamp networking.

Commercial shipments of the Smart T8 Lamp began in Q1 2018. Customers are deploying the platform for energy management, indoor location services, and as a universal IoT gateway. The simple lamp installation, revolutionary software commissioning approach, generous utility rebates and the elimination of discrete gateways, controllers, beacons and ambient light sensors, makes it easy for facilities to deploy. The open architecture and interoperability of the platform is also attractive to Independent Software Vendors that are developing a myriad of applications using the cloud-connected Smart Lighting infrastructure to add business value.

Lunera also launched an OEM Program to accelerate the adoption of networked lighting controls by building the Smart Lighting Platform on open standards including BLE, Wi-Fi and open APIs. The program enables lighting manufacturers to quickly integrate a royalty-free Smart Module reference design into their LED luminaires, retrofit kits and lamps. OEM products connected to the Smart Lighting Cloud and Applications Marketplace provide customers choice, through product interoperability, and lasting value from an ever-growing offering of new software applications.
