New Legrand 42” Plastic Enclosure Easily Integrates Wireless Devices Into Structured Wiring Installations

Legrand recently introduced its 42” Plastic Enclosure (ENP4250), which is transparent to radio frequencies to enable placement of wireless devices into traditional structured wiring installations without interference or reduction of signal coverage.

Made with a sturdy, durable ABS plastic, the enclosure features a universal mounting grid that maximizes its compatibility with third-party products without requiring additional brackets. The unique design also allows it to be utilized for surface- or recess-mounted applications. Extra venting along the door for heat dissipation and staggered mounting tabs allow multiple enclosures to mount in adjacent stud bays.

“Following on the success of our 30” inch plastic enclosure, this 42” model offers the accessibility and convenience that will make it a staple for installers tasked with outfitting homes with larger and more complex systems that combine wired and wireless devices,” said Fritz Werder, Legrand’s VP/general manager for the On-Q and Nuvo lines. “Its intelligent, innovative design is also compatible with a wide array of Legrand and third-party products, another key benefit that makes life a little easier for installers.”

The 42” plastic enclosure features an extended cover that adds 1.2” of depth for cable headroom and third-party device flexibility. The metal hinge on the cover attaches to either the right or left side of the enclosure in seconds without the need for tools or a second set of hands. The enclosure can be locked using included screws.

The tapered design allows enclosures and covers to stack for efficient transportation and warehousing. Available bulk packs of enclosures and doors offer added convenience and value for larger jobs.
