NSI Industries Introduces UL Listed Power Distribution

NSI Industries announced the introduction of the NPDB Series of Power Distribution Blocks (PDBs), providing a safe, convenient way of splicing and tapping power conductors.

The comprehensive series of 26 products are designed for short circuit current rating (SCCR) applications up to 100,000 amperages (100 kA) when properly fused. UL Listed to UL1953 and UL1059 (cULus), the NPDB Series offers a variety of line side (primary) and load side (secondary) port configurations. The family also features dual-rated, 90 degrees Celsius (AL9CU) ports, accepting copper or aluminum conductors, providing a greater flexibility in control panel wiring and wire management.

“Power Distribution Blocks marked with a higher SCCR that are equipped with finger-safe protection covers and DIN Rail mountable are quickly becoming the standard for power distribution blocks in all kinds of control panel applications,” said David DiDonato, chief operating officer, NSI Industries. “With up to 100 kA, our new NPDB Series meets NEC requirements and can replace lower-rated PDBs (10 kA) to help achieve higher control panel SCCRs. The NPDB product line compliments our current contractor-friendly Connector Blok™ Series, meeting the needs for most any application.”

The single-pole NPDB Series features a modular design that allows for installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail or through provided mounting holes. A locking mechanism secures the block to the rail. Providing protection against electrical shock, the finger-safe SCCR series is available in three sizes (small, medium and large) and are rated up to 600 volts with current-carrying capability of up to 840 amps per pole. Each unit ships complete with finger protection covers and end caps.

The NPDB Series’ SCCR helps achieve NEC® and OSHA requirements and are UL 1953 Listed, UL1509 Listed (cULus) and IP20 finger-safe per IEC 60529.
