Rosendin Promotes Two Arizona Leaders to Accelerate Regional Growth

Electrical contracting company ranked among largest in the Southwest

TEMPE, AZ – Rosendin announces the promotions of two young leaders, Brandon Stephens and Ben Mlinar. In their new roles, Stephens and Mlinar will support existing projects and identify new opportunities for growth in the Southwest.

Stephens will serve as Operations Manager overseeing Rosendin’s offices in Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. After nearly 7-years as Division Manager at the Tempe Regional Office, Stephens will hand local Arizona operations to Mlinar, who has rapidly progressed through the company since joining in 2010.

The moves support Rosendin’s growth into one of the region’s largest electrical contracting companies focused on heavy industrial, commercial, and high-tech construction. In the September 2020 issue of a leading industry publication Engineering News Record (ENR), Rosendin was ranked as the top electrical contractor in the Southwest Region with $160.55 million in revenue as well as top specialty contractor in Arizona with $145.61 million in revenue.

As Operations Manager, Stephens will be responsible for bringing Rosendin’s established operations in Arizona, Texas and Nevada under a single leadership umbrella, with a focus on growing the regional team to support consistency and collaboration with customers and optimize project performance.

“Rosendin is proud of Brandon’s commitment to growing the company, his team, and the next generation of leaders,” said Mike Greenawalt, CEO at Rosendin. “Brandon inspires people to feel good about their work by reminding us how fun this job can be, which is a great motivator whether you’re a new apprentice, a seasoned journey level worker, or a young leader.”

“Mike (Greenawalt) has been a mentor and a friend for many years, and I am thankful for his guidance and support in my journey to seek out new learning opportunities and be a better leader for my team,” said Stephens.

During his nearly 17-year career with Rosendin, Stephens oversaw project teams across several western states, as well as remote national and international projects. While serving as Division Manager he implemented increased focus on customers and developing the next generation of leaders.

Stephens began working for his father’s electrical contracting business when he was 8-years old. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Boise State University and was named to ENR’s Southwest 2020 Class of Top Young Professionals.

Ben Mlinar was promoted to Division Manager at the Tempe Regional Office, where he will be responsible for overseeing Southwestern Region operations including a long-term project at a semi-conductor manufacturing facility, a new Veterans Affairs healthcare facility, and Tempe Streetcar project.

“It’s been incredible to work with Ben over the last decade as he expanded his knowledge and skills to become a solid leader who has the full confidence of his team,” said Stephens. “There is no one I would rather pass the torch to, and I look forward to seeing how he develops as we prepare for new growth.”

“Rosendin has given me valuable tools to develop my skills while introducing me to the philosophy that anyone can lead a team if they are passionate about their work and supportive of individual growth,” said Mlinar. “Brandon helped create this path for young leaders like me, and I am grateful to him and everyone who has supported me in my career at Rosendin.”

Mlinar recently served as a Project Executive overseeing hundreds of office and field personnel spanning various projects, including high-profile jobs for some of the nation’s biggest tech giants.

He earned a degree in construction management from the University of Nebraska, holds an MBA from Arizona State University, and graduated from the Arizona Builders Alliance Leadership Development Forum. In December, Mlinar was recognized as one of ENR’s Southwest 2021 Top Young Professionals. He is a board member with Arizona’s ACE (Architecture/ Construction/ Engineering) Mentor Program.
