Rosendin Senior Vice President Recognized as an Arizona Changemaker

TEMPE, AZ – Rosendin is proud to be recognized for contributing to Arizona’s changing landscape. Rosendin Senior Vice President, Mike Greenawalt, was named among the top People and Projects to Know in 2020 by Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine.

Greenawalt was selected for delivering high value and complex work on large scale commercial construction projects in Arizona. He is currently overseeing projects including the Tempe Streetcar, Sky Harbor Int’l Airport renovations, Scottsdale Stadium renovations, a semi-conductor manufacturing facility in Chandler and Phoenix’s new Veterans Affairs clinic.

“I am honored to be recognized among the most respected people in the local commercial real estate industry,” said Greenawalt. “In the last decade, there have been monumental changes in this industry, but our biggest challenge today is convincing young people that a career in the trades can offer unlimited opportunities to high school graduates without going into debt. At Rosendin, we’ve worked to overcome this challenge by promoting our technology-focused jobs as well as participating in career development programs for kids as young as elementary school. Our strategies are working and we’ve seen great success over the last few years.”

Greenawalt started in 1979 as an electrical apprentice at the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant and spent the last 40-years in commercial and industrial construction, most of that in Phoenix. He has been with Rosendin for 17-years, where he oversaw teams working on the Downtown Sheraton Hotel, Maricopa County’s Court Tower and Phoenix Civic Plaza Renovation.

“Mike’s contributions over his stellar career helped shape the Valley’s skyline and solidify Rosendin as an important player in Arizona’s construction industry,” said Tom Sorley, Chairman and CEO at Rosendin. “He embraced new technology and developed advancements in the Tempe office that are having significant influence throughout the commercial construction industry.”

Despite his success, Greenawalt says his biggest accomplishments have been creating policies and power tools that reduce injuries and make it safer for his teams working on job sites. In 2018, he accepted the Grand Award for Construction Safety Excellence at the Associated General Contractors Convention. In 2019, he helped design a safer portable band saw that resulted in an immediate reduction in injuries.

Greenawalt, and the other professionals selected for the honor, will be recognized at an event in early November and featured in this month’s special edition of AZRE: People & Projects to Know in Arizona Commercial Real Estate.
