Thomas & Betts Sponsors Closing Ceremony at NECA

Ceremony Includes Huey Lewis and the News Concert

MEMPHIS, TN – Thomas & Betts® (T&B®), a member of the ABB® Group, is sponsoring the closing ceremony for this year’s NECA Show, which will feature a performance from Huey Lewis and the News.

T&B will be exhibiting at the NECA show in Seattle, Oct. 8-10, at Booth 1205.

As part of the sponsorship, visitors to T&B’s Booth 1205 may register to win a guitar that members of Huey Lewis and the News have autographed.

In addition, T&B will hold the Superstrut™ SuperMag™ Challenge at Booth 1205. The SuperMag Challenge will time the assembly of Superstrut metallic strut, or channel, with SuperMag™ magnetic fittings against timing a similar assembly using nonmetallic brackets.

“The SuperMag Challenge is an excellent way to demonstrate how T&B and ABB products include innovative features that simplify installation and make work safer for the contractor,” said Ralph Donati, product marketing director, Installation Products, ABB Electrification Products division. “The SuperMag fittings’ embedded magnets act as a temporary third hand, which holds the fittings in place while the installer permanently fastens the fittings to the strut.”

In addition to its exhibit, T&B/ABB will be entering five products in the NECA Showstoppers award competition, which recognizes new products and services that offer exceptional help to contractors on the job. T&B has submitted Adaptaflex® bacteria-resistant liquidtight high-temperature steel and stainless steel conduit, which features an antimicrobial thermoplastic jacket that makes the product ideal for indoor splash applications and food processing equipment; ABB NPG Quick Connect cable glands, which install quickly without locknuts or access to inside the enclosure; Superstrut SuperMag magnetic strut fittings, which secure to metal strut via embedded magnets to facilitate safer and faster installation; Ty-Met™ 304 and 316 stainless steel retained-tension ball-lock cable ties, which feature a spring crimp that retains tension after installation; and Ty-Fast® Ag+® bacteria-resistant cable ties, which feature an antimicrobial additive to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and mold.
