Orbit Industries’ Drop-On-Bar Slider Brackets, or BARB Series, is an innovative and efficient method for installing boxes onto bar hangers. Available as the BARB and BARB-CS, which features cable support pin holes, these brackets attach to 4” or 4-11/16” square boxes to form a versatile assembly. These assemblies easily drop onto Orbit’s Adjustable Bar Hangers (BHA-16 and BHA-24) and can be repositioned either before or after the final installation.
The BARB series attach to boxes through the use of a single tek screw. This new box and BARB assembly can be further prefabricated onto a BHA at waist height, or simply dropped onto a BHA after the hanger is installed.
Preassembling onto a BHA is quick and easy. After dropping the box assembly onto the BHA it can be locked onto the hanger via the BARB’s bendable locking tabs. This holds the assembly steady on the hanger, preventing any parts from coming loose during shipment.
Once both the hanger is installed between studs and the BARB has been added, repositioning of the assembly is easy. Simply adjust the assembly along the hanger until the desire position is found, then secure using tek screws. Multiple box assemblies can be easily added afterwards; up to 2 between 16” studs and 4 between 24” studs.
The ease at which the BARB can be installed and adjusted along hangers, whether in a controlled environment or on the job site, makes the BARB one of the most versatile products to use when installing boxes on bar hangers. The Series is Patent Pending, UL-Listed, in stock and ready to ship.
