Eaton Introduces BR Arc Fault/Ground Fault Circuit Breaker Enhancements to Simplify Installation and Maintenance Efficiencies

Eaton announced the enhanced BR arc fault/ground fault (AF/GF) circuit breaker, designed with short-body configuration to maximize space inside the load center and create additional wire-way, easing installation in residential and light commercial applications. Enhanced features allow the breaker to operate at higher efficiency, consuming less energy and producing less heat.

Eaton’s BR AF/GF circuit breaker allows for simplified installation and maintenance efficiencies, while providing superior protection behind the walls. The breaker features improved AFCI and GFCI algorithms to reduce call backs. The short-body configuration includes: Maximized space inside the load center, creating additional wire-way and gutter space for ease of installation; Added and improved diagnostic trip codes – including a new thermal overload code – providing ease of troubleshooting during maintenance; Easy to read trip codes through improved LEDs and on all AF/GF products to increase troubleshooting efficiency; Ability to reset the trip codes in the field and eliminate trip history to provide accurate indication of most recent trip during troubleshooting; Improved AFCI and GFCI algorithms to significantly reduce nuisance tripping.

Additional configurations include a bolt-on offering that provides easy and secure installation in light commercial applications such as hotels, dormitories and assisted living complexes.
