PORTAL adds a striking accent with its slender linear simplicity. The extruded housing in 8’ or 10’ heights harmonizes universally with contemporary architecture or open spaces. The anodized aluminum bezel surrounding the aperture creates a jewel-like accent contrasting with the slim rectilinear profile. The column features a concealed mounting structure and flangeless base for a graceful transition to grade.
Concealed LED light engines generate functional illumination. The ringed lens, molded from optical quality acrylic, refracts light to produce a bi-directional forward throw distribution. The column may include optional low-level marker lights near the base for added pathway illumination or accenting. Color temperatures may be warm or neutral white.
The Portal product family includes complementary bollards for white light illumination or colored accenting, as well as an exterior rated EXIT bollard.
PORTAL’s column fabricated from high strength 6061-T6 extruded aluminum alloy with nominal thickness of 0.187″ and cross-section of 12″ x 3″. Ringed lens is optical quality acrylic surrounded by machined aluminum bezels with satin anodized finish on both sides of the opening. Top cap for access to the light engine is machined aluminum with beveled edges and secured with tamper-resistant countersunk screws. All hardware is stainless steel. Overall column height may be 8′ or 10′.
Primary optics consists of four high-power CoB LED light engines regressed into the top of the column above the ringed lens. Color temperatures may be 3000K or 4000K with a CRI of 80+. UL recognized electronic LED drivers supply 700 mA drive current to the LEDs. Universal driver accepts 120v through 277v input voltage at 50/60 Hz. Power consumption is 38 watts. Optional marker lights are driven at 350mA and consume 9 watts per side.
The column mounts to a concealed mounting plate assembly consisting of a fabricated aluminum mounting base which installs onto four hot-dip galvanized anchor rods embedded in a concrete foundation provided by others. The column secures to the mounting assembly with two recessed setscrews.
PORTAL Column is CSA/US Certified for Wet Locations. Standard finishes include matte silver grey metallic, dark grey, graphite grey, or black. Special colors are available on request. All hardware is stainless steel.
