Greenlee Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, is expanding its line of Gator tools to include a new ratcheting cable cutter. The new Gator tool has hardened blades to produce clean uniform cuts and features an ergonomic design to reduce potential worksite injuries.
“The new ESR1000LX ratchet cutter is designed for one-handed operation to help professionals cut cable quickly and easily,” said Ryan Berg, Termination Product Manager. “The tool delivers a large cutting capacity, allowing operators to cut up to a 1000 kcmil in copper and 1250 kcmil in aluminum.”
The battery ratchet cable cutter’s handle design reduces operator hand strain and has an over-molded grip for easy, comfortable handling and control. Professionals will appreciate the lightweight, well-balanced center of gravity that optimizes hand positioning. In addition, the cable cutter includes a forward-reverse button with safety lock, minimizing safety hazards. Furthermore, the tool produces less wrist torque, reducing operator fatigue.
The Greenlee ERS1000LX uses the Makita® 18V lithium-ion battery platform, resulting in longer run times, faster charging and a single battery platform for the Gator tool line. The ratchet cutter includes a battery life indicator directly on the tool for operator convenience.
