Eaton Donates $20,000 and Volunteers to Help Wounded Veteran

Power management company Eaton announced a $20,000 donation to the Gary Sinise Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves our nation by honoring defenders, veterans, first responders, their families and those in need. They do this through unique programs including the R.I.S.E (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program that aids America’s most severely wounded heroes and their families by providing specially adapted smart homes to increase their mobility and self-reliance.

This donation will go towards a specially adapted smart home for US Army RET Sergeant Eric Hunter, who has undergone 61 surgeries and continues to struggle with his mobility after stepping on an improvised explosive device (IED) while serving overseas.

With products donated by Eaton, including load centers, surge protection devices and wiring devices, the Gary Sinise Foundation built the Hunter family home to include smart technology and handicap accessible modifications. Eaton’s employees were eager to volunteer and gathered to help beautify the property by laying 70 pallets of sod and assist in clean up.
