Espen Technology has shared the reasons why their hybrid Type A+B LED lamps are so popular. The UniFlexTM lamp family can be powered by an existing fluorescent ballast (plug & play, Type A), as well as be directly wired to line voltage (ballast bypass, Type B).
According to John Clancy, SVP of Sales & Marketing at Espen, “Espen’s A+B lamps allow end-users the reduced labor of a plug & play (Type A) solution. Then in the future, when their fluorescent ballast eventually fails, they can run line voltage to the lamps and continue using the lamps without replacing the ballast.” Clancy added, “Our distributor and contractor customers have also benefitted by consolidating TLED SKUs using our Uniflex lamps, to reduce their inventory carrying costs.”
The UniFlex TLEDs are offered in linear T8 2’, 3’, and 4’ lengths, as well as U-bent models. Uniflex lamps when installed in Type B mode, can be single-ended with unshunted sockets, or double-ended with shunted sockets. The Uniflex lamps in Type A mode work with dimming ballasts, and are compatible with controls and sensors. The linear 2’, 3’, and 4’ lamps are frosted to prevent glare, and have a 325 degree wide beam angle. The U-bent lamps have a 240 degree beam angle. Uniflex lamps operate on universal 120-277 VAC, come with a 5 year warranty and have DLC listing.
