Now as ADT Solar, the Company Allows Customers to Create a Fully Integrated Smart Home Experience
ADT helps its more than six million customers protect and connect what matters most. And, in December, ADT ’s products and services became even more smart, safe and sustainable when it acquired SunPro Solar.
SunPro Solar, now operating as ADT Solar, was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Marc Jones, an Ernst & Young award recipient and United States Army Veteran. ADT Solar is one of the leading providers of rooftop solar in the US. The company designs, installs and maintains solar panels on residential properties in 57 locations across 23 states.
Through the acquisition, ADT Solar now offers the best of both solar and ADT’s offerings, allowing customers the opportunity to create a fully integrated smart home experience that includes home security, automation and energy management.
While residential solar represents a $15 billion annual market, it is only found in 3% of all U.S. homes, a fact noted by ADT President and Chief Executive Officer Jim DeVries at the time of the ADT Solar acquisition. With the opportunity to partner with more than 200 ADT offices across the United States, ADT Solar plans to expand to more markets and bring peace of mind to more consumers.
Like ADT, ADT Solar is committed to delivering top-quality equipment, service and customer support for both customers and employees. One of the core beliefs of both companies is that excellent customer services does not happen without excellent employees and excellent employees are able to excel when provided continued training and development, the proper tools and technology and a strong leadership team supporting their careers.
ADT Solar is dedicated to improving the environment as well as its local communities. ADT Solar partners with Habitat for Humanity across the nation to help build smart, safe and sustainable homes with a mission of Powering Homes. Empowering People. ADT employees recently volunteered time and resources to help build homes in Boynton Beach, Fla., New Orleans and Denver. The team will also come together later this year in Las Vegas to help build another home for deserving family.
For its 147-year history, ADT has a track record of strategic growth and the addition of offering solar power to customers maintains a bright future.
