Two products from Orbit Industries were recently entered as finalists in the 2020 Product of the Year Competition, hosted by Electrical Construction & Maintenance (EC&M) magazine. Orbit’s Box Mounted Cable Support (BMCS Series) and Preassembled SSB with True 5” Box (SSB-T5B-200) will compete with 29 other finalists for the Platinum, Gold, or Silver awards. EC&M’s print and digital subscribers will have the chance to vote for their favorite products from May 25 through June 21, 2020.
EC&M established the Product of the Year Competition in 2001 to recognize excellence in product development in the electrical industry. Two decades later, this prominent awards program continues to showcase the most innovative products of the past year, recognizing the talent and commitment of those involved. This year marks the competition’s 20th anniversary.
Orbit’s BMCS Series and SSB-T5B-200 were introduced to the market in 2019, and received their official debut at the NECA 2019 Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Out of the 103 product entries, EC&M’s panel of industry expert judges chose the BMCS Series and SSB-T5B-200 as two of the 31 category finalists. Industry judges selected Orbit’s products based on innovation, and the ability to save end-users time and enhance productivity.
Orbit’s Box Mounted Conduit/Cable Support (BMCS) secures cable/conduit within 6” of the attached junction box. The BMCS attaches directly to any box with a Tek screw. It features three built-in fork shaped cable supports and pinholes for fastening one-hole straps. BMCS-CJ6 includes a tool-less cable support, CS-CJ6, that holds up to four MC/AC cables. UL Listed.
Orbit Industries’ SSB-T5 is the first telescoping bracket that fits 5” square boxes. The Simple Support Bracket can be ordered pre-assembled as part # SSB-T5B-200, which includes: Universal Adapter (UMA-LVBS); 4” Ring Reducer (T5R); True 5” Box (T5B-200); and raised screws for 4” rings or covers. Bracket expands from 15” to 25”. Pair 4” adjustable rings with 5” boxes.
Orbit’s BMCS Series and SSB-T5B-200 will compete with 29 other finalists for the 2020 Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards. Winners will be determined by EC&M subscribers in an online voting process administered on the EC&M website (www.ecmweb.com) beginning May 25. Voters will be presented with a photo gallery of all 31 category winners, including descriptions of each product. As an added incentive, three voters will be randomly selected to receive a $100 American Express gift check.
