ELCO Lighting’s Alpine System, a family of housings and trims specifically engineered for LED MR16 lamps. “The market has been using a housing designed for halogen lamps, not LED lamps, and it doesn’t work properly,” said Brandon Cohen, ELCO Operations. These housings are available in 3”, 4”, 5”, and 6” sizes for use with MR16 BiPin GU5.3, MR16 GU10, and MR16 quick connect (PSA37) lamps. All are designed as single wall IC Airtight for both New Construction and Remodel applications, saving the installer the strain of lifting a heavy housing, and allowing installation into a shallow plenum height.
Besides these benefits, the MR16 GU5.3 housing is available in electronic and magnetic versions without minimum loads to avoid LED lamp flickering experienced by many with the traditional MR16 BiPin Housings, and to allow for smooth dimming. ELCO created the Alpine System with the contractor in mind, to help get the job done more efficiently with pleasing results for the homeowner.
