National Association of Women in Construction to Meet in Anaheim
August 16 @ 8:00 am - August 19 @ 5:00 pm
FORT WORTH, TX — The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) will hold its 62nd Annual Meeting and Education Conference (AMEC), Aug. 16-19, in Anaheim, Calif. at the Hyatt Regency Orange County.
NAWIC’s mission is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry. The NAWIC conference is a powerful tool in accomplishing that goal. More than 400 women from across the nation will gather to network and take advantage of the education opportunities provided by the Conference. Among them will be numerous members from NAWIC’s six Southern California chapters.
The Orange County #91, Los Angeles #42, San Gabriel Valley #110, San Bernardino/Riverside #111, Ventura County #139 and San Diego #21 Chapters of NAWIC all work to provide support for southern California women working in the construction industry. Local NAWIC chapters provide education, networking opportunities, leadership training, chances to give back to their community, and much more.
The Conference itself will feature 22 seminars and workshops targeted to women in the construction industry. Construction industry topics include dealing with construction project delays, public works and the state of America’s infrastructure, earthquake design and preparedness, alternative project delivery methods, and more. Professional development topics such as teambuilding, delivering extraordinary customer service, negotiation, leadership styles, and more will complement the industry seminars. NAWIC will also offer a number of association workshops to aid its members in governing their local chapters.
