Emerson’s new RT-10 Rope Tester from Greenlee enables crews to reliably test rope conductivity in the field
Greenlee, part of Emerson’s professional tools portfolio, released its new HDE RT-10 rope tester, offering crews a portable and easy way to test a rope’s dielectric strength in the field. The RT-10 rope tester is designed to test any length of rope before use, providing clear visual and audible indications of contaminated sections.
The tester is powered by two field-replaceable 9-volt batteries and comes equipped with heavy-duty aluminum clamps, a magnetic mount for quick setup on equipment and a loud buzzer and bright LED lights to indicate a rope’s condition.
“Greenlee is passionate about investing in the safety of our customers working around high voltage applications in the field, which is why we developed this tester as part of the HDE high voltage product line,” said Ryan Berg, director of product management, Greenlee for Emerson. “The RT-10 rope tester helps take the guesswork out of whether or not a rope is conductive, allowing crews to better and more easily test the integrity of the rope on the spot.”
