Nevada electrical contractor has finished work on new, state-of-the-art ice rink
RENO, NV – Helix Electric is proud to announce the completion of Reno Ice. The new indoor, state-of-the-art ice rink, located at 15500 Wedge Parkway, will offer year-round recreational ice-skating activities to people of all ages.
“The Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association (GRCISA) has worked tirelessly to make their vision of a state-of-the-art ice rink facility come to fruition and we are honored to have been a part of it,” said Victor Fuchs, president of Helix Electric of Nevada. “It is exciting to see the finished product and we look forward to Reno Ice welcoming in its first skaters and hockey players.”
Helix Electric began executing the electrical scope of work for the project in July 2020 and completed the project in January 2021. The scope of work included the installation of lighting and control systems to provide professional level illuminance on the ice as well as electrical design execution to power the facility and all ice making equipment. The Ice Rink opened to the community on Friday, January 22.
The project was funded through a campaign carried out by the Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association (GRCISA), which seeks to bring ice-skating-related activities to the Reno/Sparks community. In addition to offering a full schedule of year-round recreation activities, Reno Ice will host exhibitions, tournaments, and competitions as well. The GRCISA also intends to create a scholarship program for young kids, in need of financial assistance, that will waive fees to allow for access to all programs at the ice rink.
