ARLINGTON, VA – IEC is pleased to announce the appointment of David Scott, Construction Industry Advocate for Encore Electric in Lakewood, CO, to the U.S Department of Labor’s Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (ACA).
Mr. Scott is one of 30 members appointed to the ACA, which advises the Secretary of Labor on issues related to the national apprenticeship system.
“It’s my distinct honor to be appointed to the Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship and to be able to advise the federal government on a subject I’m so passionate about,” said Mr. Scott. “I look forward to the opportunity to speak on behalf of IEC and the merit shop on how to best leverage the Registered Apprenticeship system to address the industry’s workforce challenges.”
Members of the ACA are appointed to two-year terms and come from across the Registered Apprenticeship system representing employers, labor management organizations, community colleges and other organizations. Mr. Scott will be succeeding Tim Oberg of IEC Indy who served on the last iteration of the ACA, which was convened between 2021-2023.
