ALTMAR, NY — When Tailwater Lodge Tapestry Collection by Hilton was looking for distinctive lighting styles, they tapped the manufacturing and engineering capabilities of Meyda Custom Lighting to create very large rustic fixtures. The result was unique American-made lighting solutions that epitomize rustic charm and brilliantly complement this hideaway, which is nestled in the quaint town of Altmar in Upstate New York.
Tailwater Lodge provides a surrounding landscape that is the perfect launchpad for exploring outdoors, including hiking, fishing and hunting with its guides or to retreat inside for beer tasting, cooking classes and special events. The resort serves up gourmet comfort food, and the sanctuary of a cozy room, the perfect place to lay your head before the next day’s wonderful adventure.
“We needed a wow piece that was large in scale but not too rustic for the bar and restaurant,” explained Charity Swanson Buchika, ASID, of Teaselwood Design and an interior designer for the Woodbine Group, which owns the Tailwater Lodge. The lounge featured several 54-inch wide, 6-light chandeliers (145571) and a 42-inch long oblong pendant (147249). “The fixtures add a lot of drama to the rooms and visitors have been very impressed with the decorative lighting.”
With a spectacular ceiling of rough-hewn beams and an infinitely adaptable space, The Barn at Tailwater Lodge provides an elegant canvas for special events. The Barn, which is a large banquet and wedding venue, is illuminated with several 84-inch 8 Light chandeliers and curved arm wall sconces that feature a Tall Pines design.
In the stunning portico, complementary 18-inch wide exterior pendants are displayed from the ceiling to add welcoming ambience as guests drive up to check in.
“Working with Meyda was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish,” continued Ms. Buchika. “The personal attention and responsiveness of their team were critical to our project success. Because projects of our scale usually have tight turnaround times, we cannot afford delays or mistakes. Meyda delivered on all aspects and we plan on using them again for upcoming projects. We ended up with amazing products that fit our design aesthetic for the lodge while helping to support another extraordinary Upstate New York business.”
All of the fixtures were handcrafted by highly skilled artisans in its 180,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Yorkville, New York, at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
