DALLAS, TX – Lightovation—Dallas International Lighting Show, already the largest and most important lighting trade event in North America, adds significantly to its marketplace this January with nearly 50,000 square feet of new and expanding companies. Lightovation, taking place January 17-21, 2018, will present more than 1 million square feet of residential lighting resources from the world’s leading companies as well as education and networking opportunities to inspire lighting professionals from around the world.
Lightovation takes place concurrently with Dallas Total Home & Gift Market (January 17-23) as well as Dallas Holiday & Home Expo (January 17-23), Dallas Total Housewares & Gourmet Market (January 17-23), and The Temps at Total Home & Gift Market (January 17-21).
No other wholesale trade event in the U.S. offers the opportunity to discover more new products and best-selling lighting, along with home décor, gifts, holiday and floral, housewares and gourmet, and artisan products.
“The lighting marketplace in Dallas continues to grow and to add increased value for lighting retailers from around the world,” said Cindy Morris, Dallas Market Center president and CEO. “For new products, for trend insights, for retail skills, for relationship building, Lightovation is a must-attend event. Our January 2018 edition will be bigger than ever as we welcome more new and expanding showrooms, enhanced educational sessions, and inspiring special events for our loyal customers.”
Among the new and expanding exhibitors for January:
WAC Lighting’s Modern Forms brand will debut a 14,000-square-foot showroom on the atrium of the Trade Mart in space 4808. Previously showing in the WAC showroom (Trade Mart 3101, where WAC will continue to exhibit), the all-LED line will showcase a full array of indoor and outdoor products, plus the company’s first-ever ceiling fans.
Progress Lighting will present a dramatically expanded showroom in Trade Mart 3840. The 20,000-square-foot space more than doubles the company’s previous size and is now located on the atrium. A diverse and growing core collection will be joined by additional new statement-making introductions in the company’s Design Series as well as smart home products in conjunction with Hubbell sister brand iDevices.
Tech Lighting will add 50% more space to its showroom (Trade Mart 4705) with an expansion that now connects to the atrium.
Arteriors will also be featured on the atrium in January with a relocation and expansion to Trade Mart 3301.
Designers Fountain will expand its footprint by more than 70 percent at this market in a new showroom Trade Mart 4929.
Canadian brand Matteo Lighting will bring its designs stateside for the first time in Trade Mart 3925.
Hunter Fan Co. will return to Lightovation in Trade Mart 4331.
Koncept will take on a permanent showroom, Trade Mart 4731 after showing successfully in the Spectrum shared showroom last year.
Primo Gas Lanterns will have new, larger space in Trade Mart 4729.
GS Designs will debut its all-solar lighting line in Trade Mart 4525.
Dot Lighting will open in Trade Mart 4634.
Inside the Spectrum Lighting Shared Showroom (TM 4432) for January, Lucas + McKearn will nearly double its show space and will be joined by new exhibiting companies Abra Lighting, DBM, and PLC Lighting.
Undergoing a significant space renovation for this market is Hudson Valley Lighting, located in Trade Mart 3902. If buyers missed its June premiere, January will provide an opportunity to see the company’s new Mitzi brand, which is billed as “attainable high design” and is especially appealing for the Millennial demographic.
Another lighting exhibitor highlight during January 2018 Lightovation: The CoeLux LED faux skylight will be displayed for the first time at any North American trade venue. Showcased in the open-daily Light + Design showroom in World Trade Center 10085, this optical system uses nanotechnology to artificially and convincingly reproduce natural light for environments where skylights would not be possible or practical.
Speakers and seminars include: Lightovation Merchandising Tours, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18. Trend guru Paul Thompson will lead two merchandising tours starting from the ALA booth on the fourth floor of the Trade Mart (front escalators). Each tour will visit a different set of exhibitors. In addition to providing inspiration, tour content will also focus on how displays could translate into retail environments with constraints on space and budget.
ALA will also host three sessions in its Seminar Center (World Trade Center 345). This series includes:
