SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – The National Lighting Bureau (NLB) has launched NLB-TV with more than 200 videos comprising a collection that is likely to grow to 500 or more within a year, according to NLB Chair Cary S. Mendelsohn, CLMC. Mr. Mendelsohn volunteers his service to the NLB as the interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies’ (NALMCO’s) representative on the NLB board of directors. In his “day job,” Mr. Mendelsohn is CEO of Chicago’s Imperial Lighting Maintenance Company, which also is a Bureau sponsor. (All sponsors are listed below.)
In addition to other NLB sponsors’ productions, NLB-TV comprises videos produced by the EdisonReport and by the NLB itself, including videos of each panel discussion held at the Bureau’s most recent Annual Lighting Forums. NLB-TV also includes intriguing historical footage contributed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), another Bureau sponsor.
As noted by NLB Executive Director John Bachner, access to NLB-TV is unrestricted and free of charge. “Our goal is to provide worthwhile service to the people who design, install, maintain, and depend on lighting to get the job done. Increasingly, that job is about far more than providing light to see by, as we learn more about lighting’s role in health care and wellness.”
The National Lighting Bureau is an independent, IRS-recognized educational foundation that has served as a trusted lighting-information source since 1976. The Bureau is able to provide its services to the public free of charge because of the generous funding of the organization’s sponsors: professional societies, trade associations, labor unions, manufacturers, service providers, and agencies of the U.S. government.
Obtain more information about the Bureau by visiting its website (https://www.nlb.org/) or by contacting its staff at info@nlb.org. Information about sponsorship also is available there.
