For contractors working on retrofit, tenant improvements, or repairs of existing

For routine installations of switches and receptacles in existing drywall, Orbit offers
over 50 models of Gangable Switch Boxes. Available in 1-1/2″ through 3-1/2” depths.
Selected models include 1/2” & 3/4″ knockouts; as well as non-metallic cable clamps, MC
cable clamps, and locking grips. For multi-gang device banks, boxes can be ganged together
via removable sides.
For oversized devices, such as GFCI and USB devices, Orbit stocks a line of exclusive
Wide Switch Boxes. These boxes are 1/4” wider than standard 3” x 2” gem boxes – and
eliminate the need to jam large devices, or risk short circuits. Model no. TGW and TGMW
include tiger grip clips. WMB-PT includes a 7” pigtail, and features unique 1/2” to 3/4”
concentric knockouts. Accessories include Old Work Clips (OWG) and Switch Box Supports
(SBS).
For rough-in of fire/life safety devices into existing walls, Orbit offers Universal Cut-In
Adapters.
UCIA-4S Series accommodates 4” boxes of any depth. They feature two old work clips with
captive screws, which can be sunk into sheet rock of any depth. Adapters leave a small foot
print, so they are easy to conceal with life safety devices 4-7/8” W x 4-3/4” H or larger.
Model no. FA-UCIA-4S is powder coated with a red finish to help installers identify fire
alarm circuits, as well as reduce the need to paint adapters in the shop. Model no. UCIA-4S is
unfinished.
Finally – when routing low voltage cable that doesn’t require a backbox – Orbit carries
Low Voltage Wall Mounting Plates. Available in 1 and 2-Gang models, LVWPs be installed
with just a drywall saw and screwdriver. After a rectangular cut is made onto the wall, simply
bend the tabs inward behind the wall. Then, using the included screws, secure to the drywall
through the plate’s slotted holes.
