Spectrum Lighting has just released the CR2, a small diameter cylinder intended for usage over a wide variety of applications. Machined from billet aluminum in Spectrum’s Massachusetts factory, the CR2 is executed within fine manufacturing tolerances to ensure the fit and finish of all components, resulting in an extremely sleek appearance.
Chris Roemlein, President of Spectrum, stated: “I am very proud of our engineering and manufacturing teams who worked through difficult Covid times to produce, in our factory, a timelessly designed lighting instrument that has all the accessories and market leading features our customers seek.”
Spectrum also sees the CR2 as a positive pivot in their design and manufacturing ideology. “This new product is the result of our design philosophy that starts with listening and obtaining market insights from diversified disciplines within the lighting industry.” States Bob Wedekind, Vice President of Product Development at Spectrum. “From there, we distilled the market trend and framed the project statement to set us on this journey with confidence. CR2 is proof positive of our powerful listening that turned our learnings into a product offering that has been well received and resonates with lighting professionals.“
All pendant and cord mounted luminaires feature hardware free canopies to achieve an ultra-clean look at the ceiling line. The CR2 is also available in a wall mount which is ADA compliant when used with an integral driver. It is available with a wide array of beam patterns and lumen outputs allowing for use in 8’-20’ ceiling heights. Optical systems range from extra narrow spot (12˚) to extra wide flood (60˚) along with a wall wash optic and are all field interchangeable. CCTs range from 2200K through 4000K, at 2 step MacAdam Ellipse, and CRIs up to 90. Lumen packages from 500 lm to 2000 lm are available. Bezels are available in a variety of anodized finishes, decorative knurling options, and all come with an interior low dazzle anti-glare matte black finish. Bezels can accept up to two accessories, such as hex cell louver, linear spread lens and decorative acrylic options. All CR2 fixtures carry cETLus damp location listing and are energy star approved. The complete fixture consists of 90% recyclable materials.
“Circular designs that take life cycle, product longevity and interchangeability into account help to meet future needs and create a more sustainable society. CR2 was designed to meet these criteria and create a smaller carbon footprint.” Said Tom Heelan, Product Manager at Spectrum Lighting.
