Legrand Adds First UL-Listed Snap-in Mounting Accessory to its Wattstopper High Bay Occupancy Sensors

Legrand, North America announced that its Wattstopper High Bay Passive Infrared (PIR) occupancy sensors feature the first ever Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listed snap-in mounting accessory. The snap-in design, now standard on all HBP-100 Series installation products as well as the extender modules, allows for quicker and safer installation. These sensors help facility managers avoid down time and help contractors meet project deadlines while maintaining safety standards.

The HBP-100 Series provide automatic control of individual LED and fluorescent lighting fixtures in warehouses, distribution centers, parking garages and other indoor and low bay spaces. An array of choices meet any project and budget requirement and include the HBP-111, HBP-112, and IP-65 rated HB Series for applications needing reliable operation in wet conditions. The economical HBP-112 sensor provides simple, cost-effective code compliance. The feature-rich HBP-111 sensor includes wireless configuration that simplifies set up, programming, and troubleshooting.

The HBP-100 series sensors passed one of the most significant tests for this type of product design called the UL Conduit Nipple Strength Test for Non-Metallic Enclosures, which requires products to withstand a 5 ft-lb impact without cracking the enclosure or separating the sensor from the fixture.

Products with this UL rating ensure reliability and safety of people and property, reducing the likelihood of injury from electrical shock or fire and damage to fixtures or electrical box-mounted controls. Many Wattstopper products, including the line of BZ power packs and FSP fixture integrated sensors, have passed this test.

“Safety and security are top of mind for those involved in building design and construction. While other manufacturers have offered occupancy sensors with snap-in mounting features, the new HBP-100 series sensor is the first that is UL-listed in the market,” said Daniel Stankovich, Product Manager for Wattstopper at Legrand.

Wattstopper, a product line of Legrand, offers the most comprehensive line of simple, scalable and flexible energy efficient lighting controls and solutions for commercial and residential applications. For more information, visit: www.legrand.us.
