ARLINGTON, VA – FLIR Systems, Inc. announced the FLIR CM65 True RMS 600A Solar Clamp Meter, a rugged AC/DC clamp meter designed to tackle the challenges of solar installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting professionals. The new meter is equipped with FLIR Tools® Mobile app connectivity and solar industry-specific MC4 test leads to make measurements on solar panel equipment safer, more accurate, and easier to perform.
Designed for new solar panel installation work and troubleshooting problems at existing sites, the CM65 is a full-featured 600A AC/DC clamp meter with quick-connect MC4 multibranch connectors to pinpoint trouble quickly. With True RMS for alternating current or voltage measurement, Low Impedance (LoZ) mode to clear ghost voltages, and ±1.5% accuracy, the CM65 provides photovoltaic (PV) installers accurate testing capabilities to get the job done right the first time. A CAT-IV 600 V overvoltage rating ensures protection on the job, while the millivolt function helps identify minute voltage fluctuations when calibrating equipment.
A glove-friendly, ergonomic design with a generous jaw (30 mm) easily clamps around wires. Users can access instant insights with several data functions, including Data Hold, Minimum/Maximum readings, and a relative mode. Continuity test mode troubleshoots string connections and components, and test functions include Diode Test, Resistance, Frequency, and Temperature.
To improve jobsite workflow and documentation, the FLIR CM65 helps installers measure and record results so they can share them on the go with customers, forepersons, or remote managers. Users can data-log readings right onto an included microSD card, as well as view readings remotely on a mobile device using the clamp meter’s METERLiNK® feature together with the FLIR Tools® Mobile app, ensuring access to readings on the roof, on the ground, or anywhere on a job site.
