Peloton High Performance High Bay from Columbia Lighting Combines Unprecedented Performance and Value

Owners and operators of gymnasiums, warehouses and light industrial working environments are increasingly asking for lighting solutions that improve the aesthetics of the space. The precision optics of Peloton provide customers with options to achieve these ambitions. Peloton is the first product in its class to feature an uplight option from 1000 to 4000 lumens to eliminate the “cave effect” and alleviate contrast concerns that ultimately lead to decreased light uniformity. Wide and Narrow distribution options are available for open area and aisle applications, and visual comfort can also be enhanced with a broad selection of lens options.

Peloton is the first linear high bay luminaire in its class to test and certify to the UL 924 emergency lighting standard. This standard dictates meeting minimum lighting levels and overriding controls in emergency mode to light the path of egress in the event of an emergency, increasing the safety of occupants. Anecdotal market research noted that commercial and industrial facility owners and operators are keen to add safety features that meet or exceed code requirements, further demonstrating the competitive advantage of Peloton when used for emergency lighting.

A typical LED highbay product in the market offers fixture efficacies around 135 Lumens per Watt. While 150-plus Lumens per Watt comes standard on Peloton, it’s the 177 Lumens per Watt high efficacy option that elevates it to the top of the class. The vast lumen output range of the DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) qualified Peloton, from 8,000 to 60,000 lumen packages, enables lighting specifiers to use a single fixture to achieve a unified look and feel in facilities with a range of ceiling heights, be it 10’ to 60’.

The lifetime performance advantage of the Peloton is demonstrated by its TM21 life projections and high ambient rating. The design of the luminaire and the quality light engine components offer a 75 percent improvement in longevity over similar products, up to 128,000 hours of projected life at L80 and up to 200,000 hours at L70. For applications where temperature flexibility is a priority, Peloton is at the top of the class again with standard ambient ranges from 55° up to 65° Celsius.

Peloton also includes robust controls capabilities. NX Distributed Intelligence™ provides options for standalone and networked integrated sensor with wired or wireless connectivity and remote programmability for NX system deployments. Using a wireless mesh networking between fixtures allows secure operation for both code-compliance and effective, building-wide integration.
